Travel Advisory
Updated: 19 May 2026 at 2:15 p.m. Israel time
Note: Updated information is in red.
The pilgrimage of 1 to 9 June 2026 is scheduled to proceed as planned.
While the situation in the region remains unsettled, conditions in the Holy Land have improved and more airlines are now flying to Israel. However, pilgrims and brief visitors should be prepared to be flexible and resilient; travel can be disrupted by the global fuel shortage and developments in the region. During their stay, they may also need to follow safety advice provided upon arrival. The situation continues to be monitored and this travel advisory will be updated should circumstances change, including if cancellation of this pilgrimage or subsequent pilgrimages becomes necessary. Pilgrims and brief visitors may also wish to consider the travel advice of their government.
Electronic Travel Authorization
All visitors travelling on passports that do not require a visa to enter Israel need to obtain an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA-IL). Please note that while the authorization grants permission to travel, the final decision on entry to the country will continue to rest with Border Control.
Those who were born in Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, or Syria, and/or who hold or have held a valid passport from any of these countries are asked to apply for the ETA-IL as soon as possible after receiving a letter from our Department confirming pilgrimage dates or an invitation letter for a brief visit, and before booking flights and accommodation, so that they know whether they are eligible to travel to the Holy Land.
You can apply for the ETA-IL and find additional information online at this link: https://israel-entry.piba.gov.il/
Please ensure that you use this official website when applying for the ETA-IL, as other websites are not affiliated with the Government of Israel and may charge additional fees.
